About Camp
Summer Camp is packed with epic fun you can’t find anywhere else—like late-night games, outdoor adventures, campfire worship, and powerful moments with God and friends! Our High School session will spend 6 days and 5 nights up at New Life Camp in Rose City, MI.
This year’s camp theme is Wholehearted. Messages for the week will be focused on what it truly means to follow God with everything we have. As we look at the lives of King Saul and King David in 1 Samuel, we’ll see two very different kinds of hearts—one that was divided and resistant to God, and one that was fully surrendered to Him.
Throughout the week, we’ll wrestle with an important question: What kind of heart do I have? In Ezekiel 36:26, God speaks of replacing a heart of stone with a heart of flesh—a heart that is soft, responsive, and alive to Him. That’s the picture of what it means to live wholeheartedly.
Our prayer is that students won’t just learn about God, but that they would encounter Him in a real way—laying down anything that holds them back and choosing to follow Jesus with their whole heart.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a list of frequently asked questions to help prepare you for camp.
Q: Where is the Camp?
New Life Camp - 701 Mayhew Rd. Rose City, MI 48654
Phone: (989) 685-2949
Q: What adult supervision will be at camp?
Every leader has been background checked, trained and interviewed. Your student's cabin leader(s) or another leader will be with your student at all times.
Q: What do I do if there is an emergency while my student is at Camp?
If there is a situation that arises, New Life Camp has a health officer that is trained to handle most any medical situation that Camp brings. If there is a medical emergency that is above the nurses training, we will contact parents and/or the emergency contact person on your student's registration. If a student is injured to the point of needing medical attention, the parent will be notified. If you have an emergency at home and need to contact your child, please call the camp's landline (listed above).
Q: What if there is an issue with fighting, bullying or other dangerous behavior?
We ensure every parent that Camp will be a fun and safe experience for every student. Fighting, bullying, name-calling are not tolerated. If a student continues to exhibit these dangerous behaviors, they will lose certain privileges, and if they continue to behave in this manner, the student may be asked to leave camp. If this happens, the expense of transporting the student home will be the parent's responsibility.
Q: Why do you do a baggage check?
Before leaving for New Life Camp, we will have a baggage check. This is not meant to be over the top; we want to ensure that specific products and items do not make it up to Camp with us. This check is handled by our Head of Security with care and discretion by The River Church Staff.
*Before bringing luggage to departure, please make sure to identify your student's luggage with his/her name written on a piece of duct tape.
Q: Can my student use the phone while at camp?
Students may use their phones during travel to and from camp. Upon arrival at New Life Camp, cellular service is extremely limited and Wi-Fi is not available. With years of camp experience we highly recommend that students do not use the phone unless it is an emergency, in which case we have a landline available.
